Cancer is the leading cause of death in Thailand for decades and mortality rate increasing every year. Especially for liver cancer is the number one deadly cancer of male population who live in northern and northeastern province of Thailand. Estimated number of people who lost their life from this cancer about 15,000 per year and rising up. Patients with liver cancer mostly presented at late stage and the prognosis was very poor. Even they're present in early stage, the surgery for this type of cancer not always easy for inexperienced surgeon. National cancer institute of Thailand with support from Department of Medical Services and Ministry of Public Health setting the "Short course for liver surgery" not only for teaching surgeon who working in endemic area and interesting in this field but also aimed for improving treatment of this cancer which will leading to decrease mortality rate.
